May Newsletter

As I write this Be Not Silent newsletter there are forty two days before the One New Man conference in Swanage, Dorset, on the 13th June.

This conference brings together Messianic Jewish leaders from Israel, an Arab pastor who was born and brought up as a Palestinian in Nazareth, and now leads a church in the town where Jesus lived, and a well known UK church leader, to join with us, mainly UK believers, as an expression of the One New Man.

This is important in these turbulent days, times of deep darkness over the whole world, times of political turmoil and global conflict, of great evil spreading through our towns and cities, of rampant antisemitism and increasing restrictions on the freedom of speech and on the freedom to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Be Not Silent conference, under canvas in June 1998, attended by over two thousand people, had the same mix of Messianic Jewish, Arab and Christian leaders, and opened the eyes of literally hundreds of people to the deep significance of the return of God’s covenant people to Israel.

Now, twenty eight years later, the Be Not Silent Day or Night vision is rising up again, by the Grace of God, and in His strength alone.

The day is darker, we have passed through 9/11 and 7/10, wars are raging in Ukraine, Iran and across the Middle East, antisemitism is growing to 1930 levels and persecution of Christians is growing worldwide, but the message is the same. God is a covenant God, and though He disciplines them severely, He will never forsake His covenant with Israel:

Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea

And a path through the mighty waters,

Who brings forth the chariot and horse,

The army and the power

(They shall lie down together, they shall not rise;

They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick):

“Do not remember the former things,

Nor consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing,

Now it shall spring forth;

Shall you not know it?

I will even make a road in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert.

The beast of the field will honor Me,

The jackals and the ostriches,

Because I give waters in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert,

To give drink to My people, My chosen.

This people I have formed for Myself;

They shall declare My praise.

Isaiah 43. 16-21.

We often borrow this passage in the Church, and rightly so because Jesus is our Redeemer, and we enjoy the blessings of Abraham, but as Reuven Doron says, after you have borrowed these scriptures, return them to their original context. This is a prophesy that is being fulfilled in our time, and we need to take heed. That is the message of the One New Man conference in Swanage on 13th June. God is saying to us today: “This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.”

This is an opportunity to experience this first hand from the natural olive branches, confirmed by and Arab pastor and an experienced Christian leader.

I encourage you to sign up, spread the word, invite everyone you can to be part of this day that God has ordained, either by joining us in person or by Zoom, and being part of the prayer events leading up to it, including the day of preparation on the 12th June. Anthony Malpas
